It’s time to shine a light on an illuminating development, ladies.
Last week NARS released three new shades in their Illuminator line. You may have seen the names Super Orgasm, Laguna and Copacabana ($29 each) before because all three are very familiar faces on NARS counters (have I ever mentioned how I can’t live if living is without Laguna Bronzer?). Now they’re just adding illumination to their repertoire.

I’ll share a detailed review soon, but for now here are some pictures and swatches. Let me

Just as an FYI, these Dior lambskin, suede, silk, feather and wood platforms are going to be huge this spring!
Designed by the one and only Galliano, they come in a variety of colors, saturated brights that will have you jumping for joy that winter is really over.
The entire collection had a nautical theme, so why not take these on a cruise! They actually would transition from day to night, with a cute little colorful silk dress.
The feather platforms are 750 pounds from Christian Dior.

Im so excited about my picks for this week, I love every single one of them! While its hard for me to pick a favorite, I think I might have to say that these Nicholas Kirkwood Caged Platform Sandals are my favorite not only for the week, but also for the spring/summer season!
I love Nicholas Kirkwoods architectural shoes. His platforms are always so fun and fierce. These platforms may be the best he has designed the gold is just too amazing for words!
I also love the layered ankle straps in different, but subdued, colors. These heels are a little dominatrix meets high fashion, but thats what makes these shoes so incredible!

I spotted EAU DE MARS during one of my regular trawls for new companies to feature in the Tee Directory. They immediately caught my eye with their unique, artsy designs. Started by veterans in the mainstream fashion industry, the brand was created out of a desire to break out of the box most street fashion brands confine themselves to. EAU DE MARS has three collections: Classics, Premium, and Limited Edition, each with their own qualities and design styles. All of the shirts are made with eco-friendliness in mind, which means organic materials and processes are used whenever possible.

My style has changed such that I no longer wear these kinds of designs, but I still can’t help but stop and look whenever I see funky character illustrations, such as the one featured on “Undercover in Creature Town“. I like how EAU DE MARS chose to stick with a simple black and white palette, which helps balance out the weird visual style of the design. This shirt is limited to 200 pieces.

This design, “Cosmic Eskimo” isn’t available yet (leaving me to wonder why all three colorways are up in the store with no preorder option, even, but I digress), but I had to post it because it’s so weirdly awesome in the same way as the one above. Once again, this is one of those instances where the one-color print looks great, and works well with the eerieness of the illustration.
EAU DE MARS is off to a great start with a good concept and a bevy of above-average designs. Their web presence is attractive and easy to navigate. My only qualm — once again — is how almost half their store is comprised of “Coming Soon” products which aren’t even available for preorder. So while at first glance it looks like there are more than 5 shirts to choose from, a second leaves you disappointed that there are, in fact, only two. Nevertheless, a minor issue. Be sure to check them out, and use our exclusive coupon code for 15% off your order!
